Although she is basically a terminal cancer patient, Sam decided to escape with Eric and Frodo.
Sam risked Frodo’s life to help only Eric get to a boat so he could go back home.
Sam risked her life to help Eric and Frodo get to a boat so they could escape.
That’s sad, but correct. Sam was willing to sacrifice herself so her friend and cat could survive.
