4. How was Joshua’s personal life related to his mission?
Joshua is the biological father of Nirmata. His wife Maya was pregnant when they were attacked in Los Angeles.
Maya, his wife, discovers Joshua is an undercover agent of the U.S. Military. Because of that she decides to run away him and live with Harun, her father.
Joshua didn’t know that his wife was the very person his unit was hunting down until years after her death.

5. What was Maya’s ultimate plan?
Terrorize simulants because of the nuclear attack in LA.

Joshua elects to sacrifice himself because he finally sees simulants as his equals.
